Lice-Free Program – 35/90 Day Guarantees
These are the required steps in the Lice Free Program:
Day 1 – Organic Lice Guru checks the hair of everyone living in your home/immediate family.
And treats everyone who has it. Please also see the house cleaning instructions below.
Day 4 – Organic Lice Guru rechecks each person who had bugs or eggs during the initial visit.
The next 35 to 90 days – Your family is covered by either our 35 Day Lice-Free Guarantee, or the
90 Day Guarantee if you elected the house cleaning service also on Day 1.
The above points outline our comprehensive lice-free program that guarantees the best result. If your
family prefers an a la carte approach instead, we are happy to give you our absolute best service and
help in whichever way makes the most sense for you.
4 to 6 Day Recheck – 35 Day Guarantee
Anyone who had eggs or bugs on Day 1 needs a recheck comb-out in order to ensure success in fully
eradicating the infestation. There are two reasons for this recheck:
1. Lice have a famous ability to travel between heads and cling to things within your environment,
so we must ensure that no bugs have re-infested the head since initial treatment. Re-infestation
typically comes from contact with your environment and/or other people (bedding, hats,
brushes or more commonly, close friends, family, teammates, etc).
2. Lice are especially persistent creatures because they secrete a super-strong adhesive which they
use to glue their eggs (aka nits) to the hair shaft. When first laid down by the pregnant female
louse, these tiny eggs, known as micro-nits, are microscopic and impossible to remove. By their
third day on the hair, the micro-nits have grown enough to be removable by the comb but will
not hatch for another four days.
The recheck comb-out handles both of the above issues. The ideal timing for the recheck is 4 to 6 days
after initial treatment. The recheck consists of another comb-out, using the same method as the initial
treatment. The recheck, when performed by our technicians, typically takes somewhere between 10
minutes for boy-short hair to 45 minutes for very long and thick hair.
For the 35 Day Lice-Free Guarantee to apply to your family, you must schedule the recheck comb-out
with us. The same per-minute-rate applies. The recheck typically takes half as long as the initial, somewhere from 10 minutes (for
boy-short hair) to 45 minutes (for very long and thick hair). The peace of mind one gets from the professional recheck is invaluable. It is the best way to bring closure to the lice experience and rid oneself of lice paranoia.
If you prefer to take responsibility for the recheck yourself, we highly recommend that you equip
yourself with the same professional grade lice comb that we use. And please have a conversation with
your technician about how exactly to accomplish the recheck on your own. Our only goal is to end your
families head lice infestation, once and for all. We can get it done, guaranteed!

Do-It-Yourself Cleaning Instructions
Many people dealing with lice are panicked about bugs in the house and want to just throw all their stuff away. However, there are simple, straight-forward steps you can take to sanitize your house, without throwing anything away. To get a sense of what needs to be cleaned, understand that lice starve to death in 3 days off the human head. Furthermore, nits (lice eggs) do not hatch off the human head. These facts mean that only items that have contacted, in the last 3 days, the “infested head” should be considered for cleaning.
The following instructions are based on the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics and scientific evidence.
1. Clothing, towels, bedding, stuffed animals, and hats
– Wash in hot water or bag-up for 3 days
2. Hair brushes, combs, and hair accessories
– Place in a Ziploc bag and store in the freezer for 8 hours
3. Furniture, rugs, headrests in the car, and car seats
– Vacuum, then spray the Upholstery Spray
4. Throw pillows
– Bag-up for 3 days
5. Hardwood floors
– Vacuum
6. Helmets, backpacks, headphones, eyeglasses
– Wipe down, bag-up if severe
Preventing Lice In The Future
There’s always at least one student with lice in every school at all times. Lice goes around our communities all year, non-stop. Protect your family from getting lice again by taking the following steps.
1. Wash hair in Repellant Shampoo and Repellant Conditioner.
2. Spray dry hair with Repellant Spray before school, birthday parties, and sleepovers.
3. Avoid hair-to-hair contact with other kids. Discourage kids from sharing hair brushes, combs, helmets, hats, pillows, and towels within the family or with friends.
4. If hair is long, style hair into a braid or tight bun whenever your child will have contact with other children, including playdates, to minimize accidental hair contact. Loosely swinging hair offers a bridge to re-infestation.
5. Watch out that the person cutting your child’s hair uses clean brushes.
6. Use the Organic Lice Guru Nit-Removal Comb to do a monthly comb-out check on your kids. Always check your kids for lice before you host a birthday party or out-of-town relatives.
All of the prevention products referenced above are available for purchase from your technician.
